The use of isotopic and elemental tracers to address fundamental problems in palaeoclimatology, palaeocean-ography, environmental geochemistry, and global change research. Specifically, the development of high temporal resolution proxy climate records for improved understanding of changes in climatic and oceanic processes during the late Quaternary in the southern hemisphere and the tropics.
