Structural geology and argon geochronology:

Applying the science of Tectonic Sequence Diagrams at microscale, and using this to constrain ages of microstructures and fabrics through argon dating. Microstructural analysis and geochronology will be carried out on as yet undated shear zones from the Lesser Himalaya, NW India, covering the area from the Shimla klippe to the Rohtang La. This research will be part of a larger project - he NW Himalaya Geotransect, in collaboration with the University of Delhi, in particular with Professor Talat Ahmad.
