Strontium Isotope Tracing of Mobility in Israel and Southern France

Bioavailable strontium isotopes provide a means of testing the mobility of prehistoric populations by comparing the isotopic composition of biominerals to that of local soil, plant and rock.  This research is being undertaken by comparing the results of detailed mapping in Israel and Southern France to material from a range of Palaeolithic archaeological sites.
